Enchanting Wedding in the Santa Fe Mountains

hattie and rebecca’s wedding centered around the merging of their families, celebrating with friends, and high mountain desert fashion. the brides wanted a destination wedding at a luxury property where all of their friends and family could gather and celebrate. Their love of the mountains, art, and culture - which led them to Santa Fe – specifically, to the newly renovated and reopened Bishop’s Lodge. The majestic vibe of Santa Fe and the bold vistas of the Sangre de Cristo mountains made for a beautiful backdrop.

The Welcome party
The wedding weekend kicked off with a stylish cocktail party, featuring a design-your-own hat bar by Maverick’s of Santa Fe. Guests sipped on “holy margaritas,” enjoyed a chili roasting station, and were blanketed with the sounds of New Mexican electro-rock played by an up-and-coming local musician, the Tone Ranger. And no Santa Fe party would be complete without shots from the famous tequila donkey, Rosita.

The Wedding
guests were encouraged to ‘lean in’ to the Southwestern Chic dress code, and high fashion was on display. The wedding, held on brisk Friday afternoon as the snow cleared out and the sun hung low over the mountains, was followed by a second line with a mariachi band to an outdoor cocktail party, and then to a giant tent where guests were delighted with a three course meal under custom hand-dyed fringe installations by florist Bows and Arrows.

After dinner, the tent opened and guests were awed by native flamenco dancers. Guests were led into the ballroom for a night of dancing and partying with the brides’ dear friends, rock and roll jammers The Cooper Trent Band, who took requests on bar napkins all night, a nod to the piano bar at New Orleans’ legendary Pat O’Brian’s.
